Cracked Glass Technique

Last week I got together with a group of Demo friends, we try to do this once a month. Each month we usually catch up on things and learn something new. This time Gail was showing us how to do the Cracked Glass Technique. This is the finished card of what I did. It is very hard to see any difference in the bird part, however if you look real close you may see cracks in it, my photography skills are not very good.
To do this technique you do layer upon layer of clear embossing, then when its nice and thick you pop it into the freezer for approx 5 to 10 min and then you carefully bend it so that it cracks. I am sure there would be proper instructions over at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/

The other week I came across a tutorial to make a bag from Jenny Hayward's blog using the SAB papers. Well I just had to try it. I loved how it turned out, however I will tweak it, as I'd like to make it smaller to hold cards better, this however would be a lovely way to give a gift...

A friend's daughter birthday is today and this is the card we made her, nice and easy yet looks lovely, on the tutu is glitter, as girls love sparkly things. The paper used is retired Tea Party DSP, the ballerina is from Under the Big Top pg 33.

I first saw these last year, and then recently on Becky Roberts site, she had done them as gift card holders, I followed her instructions and made one then made a bigger one using an A5 piece of cardstock, you could put a little pouch inside and put a coffee voucher or satchet in. These would make a nice card/gift for the coffee lovers in your life.

I have been creating, however am still very much in holiday mode. Children don't head back to school for another week and a half..
Today's card is a Case from the US Stampin'Up! magazine, just like the impressions mag that Aussie demo's get, there's is on a larger scale.
The colours i have used are Rich Razzleberry(brights), crumb cake( neutrals) and Very Vanilla, the stamp set used is Creative Elements ( pg 89 of main Catty) this set is so versatile, I use mine often, lovely for cards, invites, girly cards. (butterflies) etc

Here is a Male card I did for a challenge, it looks so much better in real life, I have used the stamp from the open sea in the new mini, plus the matching paper, I have curled over the top corner like scrolls in the olden days, at the side I have used the Lace ribbon border with red/white bakers twine and an antique brad, overall I am pleased with how it turned out. What do you think?

This card is cased off a card I was given for my 40th, I just loved it, Quick and effective. It is safe to post now as I know the lovely lady has recieved it. Hope you like it too. The 80 is done in the silver glitter paper, along the lace ribbon border I have put glitter circles to add a bit of bling.

Gift made for a Special Friend..

Each year my girlfriend and I try to give something homemade to each other,well we have in years gone by. This year I made a little scrap book of our time together in Bris, The idea came from a project we did at Convention a few years back, I just changed the colours etc, plus I also found this great idea, it looks like a coffee cup when you open it up, it has a seed packet inside for the person to plant, then when they flower or grow they think of you.. I think I will try making some of these over the holidays, a nice gift for someone hard to buy for. What do you think??

Christmas Card made by my Son

Each year my middle child ( 13years boy) makes his teacher from his last school in Melbourne a Xmas card, plus they keep in touch via email throughout the year which is lovely too. Last year you may remember he made the snowman card with a broken arm, this year he has gone for an easy look, he designed then made the card, his younger sister had made one similar the day before for her teacher but with a yellow background ( great minds think alike). Avairy Stamp Set..

I borrowed the Avairy stamp set from a friend to have a play with and so unlike me I left it to the last day to play with it, due to work and making xmas cards, anyhow I cased these cards mainly from Stampin'Connections, I am happy how they turned out, I will keep them for displays at workshops, however I did stamp an extra few so I can use for cards through out the year.
Also with the December frenzy the Every Moment stamp set is back to full price. Get your orders in quick if you want others at the cheaper price.

Extended Bon Bon..

As most of my family live on the other side of Australia, I wanted to give something that was homemade and could be packaged easily, so these bon bons were a bonus for my brother and family, plus they got a voucher as well. The little one is for niece filled with choccy's plus she got another gift, google extended bon bon and you will find it in U tube. It was so much easier than I thought, plus my brain didn't have to do the hard yards. The longer one fits a shower gel bottle, or little bottles of Alcohol and a chocolate, you could think of lots of ways to fill it.Enjoy...

Mini Launch last night

Last night I had my mini launch. These are the projects we made..

We also did a KK everyone that attended had to bring a gift handmade and wrapped for swapping, it also had to be under $5. I forgot to take a photo of these however they were wonderful, there was a washer made to look like a rabbit holding a candy cane, a bath bomb wrapped in a washer to look like a bon bon, and an oragami box with candle inside, another was a stiched bag with a very cute owl inside , and box with choccy's and a sleigh with choccy's and a keyring ( I made this)

And lastly these cute santa's. 1 for each attendee.

Classes have finished for the year,only 1 more event to go - mini launch on this Thurs night. So then I can start getting more organised for xmas, only the odd day at work also, this all helps, so now to plan my time to be productive. I have started my xmas cards and sent out quite a few so am happy with that. Todays card is one that I have seen floating around the web and wanted to try, I don't own the scallop square die so I've used the scallop edge punch to get a similar effect. The tree is 3D although you can't tell by photo sorry. I am loving the Lace Ribbon Border punch I just need to use it on more projects. I've tried it with the glimmer paper and it is so sparkly...

Perth regional Training Tomorrow...

HI all, Tomorrow is our Stampin'UP! training day in Perth tomorrow. I think there expecting approx 300 excited demonstrators, We recieve a stamp set to create with on the day, business talks, sneak peaks of upcoming mini( I hope) plus the chance to get to know other demo's and swap card fronts etc - can you tell I am a tad excited...
This year I have only made 20 swap cards, I have collected so many over my 4 1/2 years as a demonstrator, I haven't thrown any of them out and I am running out of places to put them. My new downline is coming too so I am quite excited about that, plus we will be catching up with others we know, so looking forward to a fun day of stamping. Hi Everyone,

this week has pretty much dissappeared before my eyes, usually when I do several days at the local childcare centre, I run behind at home with my craft, business stuff and housework of course, this week however I've not worked mon or tues and really I still don't have anything to show for it, I must make myself achieve more..
The above card is a case from the Catty pg22 " Beautiful Season" Stamp set, clear $33.95 or wood $41.95. I found the watercolouring quite relaxing. Have a good, what's left of it, week

I held my New Catalogue Launch last Wed evening, 11 Lovely ladies attended, I am hoping they all had a fun night, I have had a few contact me and say they had a great night, there were prizes to win with games and lucky chair, A free Hostess set ( in a draw after spending $50) this set was won by Kim. The stamp sets we used were Creative Elements which I love so much use for it, cards, scrapping and other projects. The other set we used was button buddies, this was a popular set with most purchasing it on the night. Who doesn't have a stash of old buttons at home, and what a great way to use them up...

I am running another class this month for Father's Day, last years class was quite popular.
In this class we will make a tool box, wallet card, origami shirt card and a chocolate pull treat holder, if you don't have a dad you can always change the wording to happy birthday, I will have these stamps available also. At a workshop I did yesterday, this is the card we all made, nice and early for Father's Day. For those that didn't have fathers, they could change the wording at the top for Happy birthday. The Fathers day stamp is from the Occasional Greetings stamp set found on pg19, this set will be retiring at the end of August - I sure love this set, I won't be parting with mine. The other set used is Lovely as a Tree, also a great all rounder you can find this on pg 83 of the current catalogue.

I can't believe this is my 5th scrapbook page since april, I have done 2 in the last few weeks and am very happy with how they have turned out. The ladies in this photo are customers/friends who used to come to my card classes in Melbourne,I was lucky to have dinner with them while I was in Melbourne for the Stampin'Up! Convention in May. These photo's I will treasure.

Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend. Children started back at school today which is nice, now to get stuck into jobs and crafting that I have put off while they've been home. I scrapbooked today, I will show you this at a later stage.
Today's card is a case from Monica Gale a UK stamper, My colours are different, I also made another similar one in a normal card size, I will show you this in a few days as I have done another one for a good customer/friend for her birthday this week and don't want to spoil her surprise..

Today in Perth it is wet and chilly. Perfect weather for cooking, crafting or reading a good book. I plan on doing a bit of each of these today.

Another dress card that I cased from the internet, I love finding new ways to use my punches other than their original idea, this is a cute card for a little girl or ballerina, for a bit of extra bling I have added Pearls along the neckline and at the waist.

This is the last month of the Autumn/Winter mini, we are unsure what will make it into the new catty, going by the US catty, this set " Sew Suite" won't make it, so thought I'd do some creating with it, this card is cased from a UK demo, plus I've done a bit of paper piecing and added the pom pom trim for a bit of extra...
The stamp set Strength and Hope, the one that raises money for Breast Cancer will no longer be available at the end of July.

Tahlia is off to a birthday party today, This is the card she made her friend, she flicked thru my catalogue, found some cards she liked and said I need to make this in purple, the card she chose is on page 77. June Thankyou cards

Each month I make new Thankyou cards, that I place in with people's orders, half the fun of stamping and creating is to recieve home made cards, who doesn't like to recieve cards, so for every order placed with me, you will always get a Thankyou card, this is June's.
I have used old olive and the Fresh cuts stamp set and notecards. Stamp set is found on pg 91 $38.95 for 5. Fresh cut note cards are on pg123 $17.50 for 15 notecards/envelopes. You can put any colour behind or you could stamp an image on the front in Versamark and use chalks to give it different colours.

Today's class

Today I did a class at the local Defence community centre. We decorated candles with stamps and each made a card, this is the card and candle I demonstrated, everyone did theres differently with a variety of stamp sets, majority did the card the same. We had a few new ladies and I am pleased to say they enjoyed it. Enjoy and have a great weekend.

Sorry its been a week between posts, what with working, running classes , running a household and a family, I have had little time to create just for myself. Anyway today's card is one I made quite awhile ago for my mum to give to my niece who is turning 21 this year. She's already had her party so I am hoping Mum has given her the card already and not waiting until her birthday to send it, oh well, perhaps my niece won't visit my blog and it will be a surprise for her.. While at Convention, I got some fabulous swaps that you saw, plus there were some great demonstrations on stage, well I have a list as long as my leg of all the ones I want to try... Here are some cards using these techniques, the pink at the back is bleaching technique, this was shown by Kirsty Brown, the one of the circles down the bottom is called inlaid embossing this was cased from a swap from Kim Gavarra, the ones of the birds I came up with myself they are also inlaid embossing, I have used these in a team swap that I am taking part in.

Each month a couple of demonstrators and myself get together to chat and create. When we got together in April, we had our children with us, some photo's were taken, and the challenge was "the next time we meet up we are to have a scrap page done of them", the other 2 ladies are scrapbookers and me well I am a beginner, however I took the challenge on board and with some help from a lovely customer/friend, Gail, I completed my page and I must say I am very happy with myself.
The photo below doesn't really do it justice, it looks heaps better in real life.
